    . Follow This was my child's lunch today. Nothing cut up in a cute shape. No hand written note. There's not theme or decorative lunch box. Nothing she could heat up. No separate containers. Fruit thrown in a plastic bag. Sometimes I throw in a little pizzaz. Something extra. Sometimes I yell as she is getting out at school drop off "oh crop, hot lunch today!" And guess what? I'm still a magic mom #normalizingnormal

However, I have always eatten healthful foods and I'm a certified health & fitness coach & studied nutrition since I was 12. However, I wasn't going to force my choices on them. Now years later, they eat healthy. Because of my example, not because I kept anything from them.

    Mrs. A @agreatdayinnc Replying to @SarahisCensored Eh I would make a few changes, like a homemade sandwich, and veggie straws instead of Cheetos and a gogurt(dye free), instead of ores yogurt, Aldi dye free gummies....but overall I don't disagree w/her. I don't do fancy, but you can still do healthy quick snacks

My "easy" lunches for my kid might be canned refried beans, leftover meat from dinner, bag of cheerios (sure not ideal but better than cheetos), a banana. Prepackaged doesn't have to be ultra-processed

    Courtney @crystalandqueue Replying to @SarahisCensored I'm pretty in between. I would allow one of these items in as a “treat”. (Not including the fruit). We rarely allow Cheetos or red dye items so that's like a once every other month kind of treat. Balance is key.

    Kenz @SaltedKenzie Whilst I agree that we could definitely have less processed stuff & some other healthier alternatives, restriction can, & often does, lead to eating disorders. Different for every child obviously. But fed is better than not. Everything in moderation.

    chaos robot @deestiv I need people to seriously chill a little bit about these snapshots of a single meal at a single point in time. Is this the best, healthiest lunch ever? No. Is it the only stuff this parent feeds their child? Also no.
